Pros & Cons

  • Amazon is very flexible! I can choose to work from home or come into the office. If I have a doctor's appointment, I can always attend and complete my work after I am done.
  • There is a lot of online training and it can take over a week to get through everything. It's essential considering the current climate with COVID-19, but it does get very tiring staring at the screen all day. I've picked up negotiation skills, phone acumen, SQL skills, Tableau skills, etc.
  • Very generous sign on bonus. Average base salary.
  • Majority of managers in 3P are female, and many of them have stayed with Amazon from their originating country and came down to Australia to help grow the business down under! Amazon has a generous maternity leave policy.
  • Training is pretty good, everyone is open to answering any questions you have. Although sometimes it's a bit dry and there's a lot to learn at the beginning.
  • Very well structured and prolonged training to ensure everyone follows the expected amazon standard
  • Can become stressful at times.
  • Have to work on Tuesday to Saturday shift so I have less weekend time with my partner.
  • Slow-paced due to size of company Compared to competitors in the field, limited perks
  • Overwhelmed by the amount you have to learn at the start

I mainly assist customers by troubleshooting the issues they may have. With every new case I am constantly learning every day. I am involved in team collaborations and catch up events, I have the opportunity to write articles and make tutorial videos to assist with troubleshooting and increasing knowledge. I continuously get to meet new people and work with different teams and engineers not only here in Sydney but globally as well which is very exciting!

The company's office is amazing! It's a five-minute walk from Town Hall station and has so many facilities. We have a pool table, Nintendo switch, PS5, XBOX, snacks, fully stocked fridge, barbeque, water dispenser where you can choose between sparkling or still, and dress code is super casual! Most people wear a t-shirt and jeans with sneakers.
